DE Controls was using a standalone system; this made it difficult to have real-time visibility of the overall inventory (especially finished goods). As the inventory was manually maintained it was difficult to track the stocks that were returned from various regions. Valuation of stock on a real-time basis for raw materials and finished goods was also not possible.
