Reducing the Impact to Microsoft Exchange and SQL Using Off-Host Backup With Backup Exec and Hitachi Storage

An integrated off-host backup solution from Symantec and Hitachi can eliminate or significantly reduce the impact of backup on the performance and availability of Exchange and SQL environments. This joint solution combines Symantec Backup Exec 12 and Hitachi modular storage systems and is engineered to take advantage of Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Services (VSS) snapshots in both Windows 2003 and Windows 2008 environments.
