To help provide further protection, NitroSecurity worked with several outside security agencies - including the Rochester Institute of Technology - to develop a method wherein intrusion prevention (IPS) technology may be used to actively block this attack. The results: on it's own, NitroSecurity's proffered solution provides protection on par with a properly applied DNS server patch; when used to protect patched DNS servers, the protection is complete - virtually eliminating the risk of DNS cache poisoning.
