Requirements Process for SOA Projects, Part 2: Business Requirements for Your First SOA Services - Business Requirements for Your First SOA Services
Source: IBM
In the first paper in this series one learned about determining technical requirements for one's Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) project. It started with a debate about the reasons for examining technical requirements before business requirements. Although there is no "Correct" answer, but in the authors experience most, if not all, SOA projects are led by Information Technology (IT) departments, discussions tend to begin with technology. In this paper, one learns more about the business aspects of SOA projects. One will understand key aspects of the business requirements one need to capture as part of the initial SOA services rollout. One will also learn about fundamental requirements techniques one can use to capture these requirements (although it's more important to address the "What" than the "How").
