At the time of the release of Windows Vista, Microsoft Corporation (Microsoft) commissioned Principled Technologies (PT) to develop and run a set of tests that compared the responsiveness of Windows Vista and Windows XP SP 2 on common business tasks. Now, with the release of Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1), Microsoft has commissioned an update that compares those earlier test results to results of the same tests on Windows Vista SP1. The goal of the tests is to provide buyers with a sense of the differences in response time they would experience when performing the same typical business operations on each operating system (OS).
