Rheinbahn A.G. Rolls Into the Future With the Help of an HP Blade and Data Storage System: New Data Centre in Record Time
Source: Hewlett-Packard (HP)
Rheinbahn Bahngesellschaft A.G. (Rheinbahn) wanted to replace all the strategically important components in its data centres, including the SAP system landscape, with the latest technology, at the same time. With around 30 servers, the existing server infrastructure had to be transferred in the shortest time possible onto a converged infrastructure, based on HP Blade architecture. It also needed to be migrated together with the relative Storage Area Network (SAN) neighbourhood system. Company approached HP. A large proportion of the rack-based standard servers were replaced with different models of HP ProLiant Blades and Integrity Blades. A complete SAP system neighbourhood and other applications critical to the business were reproduced on HP Blade architecture.
