RheinEnergie AG Integrates Data to Provide Customers With Precise Consumption Analysis

RheinEnergie AG wanted to improve load management capabilities as well as storage and analysis of utility meter data, recorded at 15-minute intervals and integrates the company's legacy SAP billing and customer information systems to enable rapid queries of contract and customer master data. The challenge was to optimize internal energy procurement and pricing strategies and gain the ability to provide energy usage data to customers to help drive conservation. RheinEnergie developed "Lastgangdaten-Online," a Web-based solution based on a Java Enterprise architecture and Oracle Application Server, to enable consumers to analyze their energy consumption as well as worked with Cologne Intelligence GmbH, an Oracle Partner, to create and deploy the new solution.
