The Sanger Institute was one of the major team members in the Human Genome Project, the international effort to define human chromosomes, genes and DNA sequences. The Institute wanted to provide storage capacity to support huge genome database. The Sanger Institute deployed beta testing of HP StorageWorks 4400 Enterprise Virtual Array (EVA4400) in production environment.
