SAP R/3 can cover multiple departments with multiple organizations supported by various IT infrastructures. For example, purchasers may use SAP R/3 in one site accessing SAP R/3 through a PC, whereas mobile salespeople in multiple countries working in different languages may use a remote web access. The processes for declaring, modifying and suppressing user accounts and rights are different in each case. These differences in users, organization and IT infrastructure make SAP R/3 user management a real challenge in terms of implementation and operation.
