In order to better understand the motivation behind and perceived benefits of server virtualization, ESG surveyed IT organizations about their virtualization initiatives. The anticipated benefits include reduced costs, improved server backup processes, faster provisioning; simplified management; reduced power and cooling costs, lower floor space requirements, and higher levels of availability and disaster recovery.
