With companies like Google, Microsoft and Amazon building massive data centers, Cloud Computing will soon be part of everyday lives. But the scale of these data centers requires new approaches. One approach is the use of computing PODs. A computing POD consists of all of the elements of a traditional data center within a self-contained unit, often in the form of a single data center equipment rack, and sometimes in much larger form - such as a standard shipping container.
