Securing the Interactions Between X Clients

The security of Xwindows is usually divided into authentication/ authorization of connections, and authorization of Xclient interactions. The first issue has been well-addressed in research through mechanisms such as xhost and xauth. This paper discusses the approaches to the last issue: one of authorization. It presents taxonomy of different approaches and discusses the effectiveness of a lightweight mechanism which it proposed.
