Security of Data Warehousing Server

The aim is to study the data warehouse specific security needs which means focusing on the long life cycle of the data and the data security and privacy issues. This requirement needs to be fulfilled despite of the unpredictable future uses of the data. The basic assumption is that data warehouse server is running on the dedicated server, and the basic information system security is properly taken care of. Thus this paper covers only the basics of the regular information system security approaches used in the server and database environments and attention is paid on data warehouse specific issues that come from the sensitivity, business value and the long and unpredictable lifespan of the data.
