Security Threats on Different Layers of Mobile Ad Hoc Network
Source: International forum of researchers Students and Academician
A Mobile Ad-hoc NETwork (MANET) is a self-configuring infrastructure less network of mobile devices connected by wireless. Each device in a MANET is free to move independently in any direction, and will therefore change its links to other devices frequently. The ad-hoc networks are a new wireless networking paradigm for mobile hosts. With the use of wireless links renders a MANET susceptible to link attacks. In this paper, the authors discuss security issues and their current solutions in the mobile ad-hoc network. They are attempting to analyze the security attacks in ad-hoc environment and focusing on various areas of security requirement, the security criteria of the mobile ad-hoc network and the main attack types that exist are explained in this paper.
