Source: Academy Publisher
In spite of the vital role played by Digital Certificates in Public Key Cryptographic systems, the overhead involved in maintaining those made them prohibitory. Certificateless Public Key Cryptography was proposed as an alternative. It was based on based on the concept of implicit certification. Even though Certificateless Public Key Cryptography (CLPKC) combines the appealing features of PKI [4] and IBC [5] it suffered from the Denial-of-Decryption (DoD) attack. This led to the development of a new paradigm called Self-Generated-Certificate Public Key Cryptography (SGC-PKC). The SGC-PKC was based on the CL-PKC.
