SensorML and HUML in Situation Awareness Processing for Autonomous Mobile Sensor Networks

OGC SensorML is not just a metadata language it enables on-demand execution of algorithms, it describes sensor systems, processing algorithms and workflows. These elements, combined with external ontologies, may be used to implement the processing for the 'Situation Awareness' System (SAS). This paper is about the use of OGC SensorML system and processing to map the data from a constellation of sensors into one or more "Situations". A "Situation" is a description of the results of interpretation of a plethora of sensory data. For humans a situation is the characterization of a collecting of event and state data through a context.
