Siemens USA's Global Shared Services North America Improves Reliability of Vital Human Resources System

Siemens wanted to improve reliability for the company's highly visible Oracle's PeopleSoft Enterprise Human Capital Management system that is used to pay thousands of employees each month and provide 24/7 uptime to meet service-level agreements and accommodate self-service use by employees working in many different time zones to ensure that staff retention to carry out electronics and electrical engineering services. The challenge was to simplify system maintenance. Siemens migrated from a Microsoft Windows environment to Oracle Enterprise Linux and upgraded PeopleSoft Enterprise Human Capital Management for a more reliable, scalable IT infrastructure to support the Human Resources (HR) system.
