In wireless communication, there are different medium access techniques that allow users to share a common channel. Each protocol is entitled to do its best to avoid collision. In this paper, the authors have selected two random access protocols for simulation and comparison purposes. The first protocol is the Random Access SCheduling (RASC) protocol that supports unicast communication. The second protocol is the Broadcast Support Multiple Access (BSMA) protocol that was implemented in Ad hoc network environment. They built their own real-time simulator with wireless environment parameters such as zone size and node velocity. In order to gain simulation confidence, they run extensive number of experiments using different probabilistic distributions.
