7-Eleven decided to purchase laptops for 2,800 employees to increase productivity while solving its remote service management problem in getting patches, upgrades and anti-virus software to remote employees without forcing them to assist manually. The company chose a total solution from Dell consisting of Dell Latitude laptops with Intel Core 2 Duo processors to replace 2,800 existing desktops and laptops, and Dell Distributed Device Management Services to centrally manage the laptops without requiring the assistance of remote employees.
