Smals eHealth Platform Enables Healthcare Service Optimization and Cost Reduction in Belgium

Smals wanted to develop a services-oriented ICT infrastructure to flexibly and cost efficiently support electronic collaboration between all parties of the Belgian healthcare sector, ensuring compliance with legal requirements regarding information security and patient privacy and offer a number of basic services like Integrated Access Management, Time Stamping, coding & anonymizing and encryption to all parties involved in the healthcare sector, allowing them to use these services as starting point for their own value-added services, for example the Belgian Cancer Registry. Smals designed and developed the eHealth platform, the ICT platform that supports collaboration across the Belgian healthcare sector.
