Socially-Aware Data Management for Mobile Users

Mobile social computing can leverage the success of Internet based social networking applications (such as Facebook, MySpace, and LinkedIn) and the features of newly-developed programmable smart phones to provide a large spectrum of geosocially aware applications. So far, social applications on smart phones (or other mobile devices) have been mostly limited to mobile versions of Facebook or MySpace accessible across the Internet, location and centralized data sharing in social groups and signaling matching interests between people using spontaneous one-hop ad hoc communication.
