Spam and SPIM: A Growing Threat to Messaging Systems
Source: Symantec
Spam has been a serious problem for email administrators and users alike, growing from one in six emails in 2002 to approximately three out of four emails today. After five years of dealing with spam and throwing significant resources at the problem, 54% of messaging decision-makers in mid-sized and large organizations still view spam as a serious or very serious problem according to a recent Osterman Research survey. In addition to SPAM, SPIM also poses a significant threat to the organization. SPIM allows SPAM to be sent into the network through the employee's IM accounts. The attendee of this webcast will learn how SPAM and SPIM have caused organizations to invest to combat them as well as realizing that they have to protect their whole messaging infrastructure.
