SSM: Slot Scheduling Mechanisms in a Multihop Wireless Hotspot Network
Source: Science Publications
The focus was to determine a "Slot" time for message forwarding. To this end, the authors' model the system as a "Queue" where the time for packet forwarding is determined by slot, at different slot range for each relaying node. The paper also introduced one important reason of the poor performance is the close coupling between medium contention and network congestion. The simulation results revealed how that the slot scheduling mechanisms are able to guide the multihop wireless network into an equilibrium state quickly. The paper also showed that maintaining communication among the relaying nodes was important for a stable MWN.
