State of e-Learning in the Enterprise Software Industry

With the availability of more advanced multimedia e-learning tools and rich Web 2.0 features that allow for collaborative learning environments on-line, e-learning is gaining popularity across many types of corporate training organizations. As enterprise software companies move towards e-learning, their need for instructional designers and course developers familiar with successful elearning techniques increases. This paper is an attempt to provide an overview of the specifics of the training operations at a typical enterprise software company, the current state of e-learning and future trends, and would be of interest to instructional design and e-learning specialists that are unfamiliar with enterprise software training organizations.
