Storage in the Virtual Era: Revisiting the Requirements on Data Storage

The growth in use of server virtualisation technology is having a knock-on effect on other infrastructure capabilities including storage. As it becomes a core technology (of this one has no doubt), virtualisation can both help and hinder the efforts as one aims to store and manage information for the organisations. This paper reminds ourselves of the requirements on core storage and considering the impacts, both positive and negative, of server virtualisation.
