All organizations plan to execute on their strategy, yet many struggle to successfully execute their plans and achieve the results they were predicting. It's the old adage, "If you fail to plan, plan to fail." So it should not be shocking that the root cause, most of the time, lies not in the technical and tactical execution, but in poor or non-existent front-end planning for implementation after the strategic plan is completed. Poor execution planning is often the result of what we don't do than what we do. The first error from the executive suite is failing to determine the real "Executability" of the plan before declaring the process of strategic planning a success.
