Sun Storage Solution Enables ETH Zurich IT Team to Support Innovative Scientific Research

The Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zürich (ETH Zürich) is a science and technology university in Zürich, Switzerland with 370 professorships and 15,000 students from 80 nations. The challenge was to scale to handle many TB of new data on a few days' notice and find an additional alternative to Fibre Channel disks. The ETH Zürich Storage Services Group deployed a solution comprising several Sun Storage 7210 Unified Storage Systems for fast, scalable data management and file sharing purposes.
