The view buttons and commands at the bottom of the Navigation Pane correspond to different folder views, such as Mail, Calendar, and Contacts. Depending on the view that one chooses, they see a different set of panes, folders, and information for those folders. The view buttons appear in both the expanded Navigation Pane and the minimized Navigation Pane, so that they are always available when the Navigation Pane is turned on. The user can also choose how he or she wants to view the information in each of the folder views. Each folder in Microsoft Office Outlook, such as Inbox, Contacts, and Calendar, displays its items in a default layout, called a view.
