TechNet Webcast: An Introduction to Microsoft Deployment Toolkit Tools (Level 200)
Source: Microsoft Tips
Microsoft Deployment Toolkit was created to assist in deploying the Windows Vista operating system. Microsoft Deployment Toolkit also updates Deployment Workbench, a tool administrators use to build and manage multiple operating system configurations, define network deployment points and network shares, inject drivers, attach language packs, and chain applications. Microsoft Deployment even helps generate ISO and Windows Imaging Format (WIM) images using Windows Preinstallation Environment (Windows PE), and can be deployed in a networked environment or by using various offline media. Microsoft Deployment also alleviates many of the scripting requirements of earlier versions of Business Desktop Deployment (BDD) by incorporating a standalone task sequencer derived from Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007.
