The Economist Intelligence Unit conducted a global survey of 435 senior executives, half of whom work for companies with more than US$1bn in annual revenue. The paper reached a very senior audience, including CEOs, CFOs, heads of internal audit and audit committee chairmen, as well as risk managers and compliance officers. Respondents were drawn from a cross-section of industries. To supplement the paper, the Economist Intelligence Unit conducted a program of interviews with senior risk and controls executives from a number of major companies.
