The Golden Code is Fast Decodable
Source: Institute of Electrical & Electronic Engineers
Multiple-Input Multiple Output (MIMO) technology offers higher transmission rates and improved performance over single-antenna systems. The spatial diversity and multiplexing gains offered by the multiple antennas at the transmitter and receiver are exploited using space-time coding. Of particular interest in mobile applications are MIMO systems with two transmit and two receive antennas; this configuration is able to provide both diversity and multiplexing gains while keeping costs at a minimum. The golden code is a space-time code for two transmit and two receive antennas that was proposed independently. The golden code has a non-vanishing determinant and hence, achieves the full diversity-multiplexing frontier of Zheng and Tse.
