The Most Communication-Effective and Most Usable Information Delivery
Source: SAS Institute
This paper focuses on the example of trend plot data. The web-enabled graph provides pop-up text so that the user can read off EXACT values for plot points, rather than estimate them, without being forced to jump to the spreadsheet. Annotating a plot with precise values is not practical when points are dense or the plot is multi-line. This solution works for any graph, not just a plot, and avoids trying to fit a graph and table on the same page. The HTML, graph, and spreadsheet files can be stored on local disk, a LAN file server, or a web server. They can be emailed as attachments, possibly zipped first. (FYI, SAS can be used to send email.)
