Traditionally organisations have used their intranets for internal communication, providing easy access to shared static information for all their staff. For many organisations connecting their workforce in this way has supported increased productivity, morale and congruency within the business. However, while a communications based intranet adds value to an organisation, the bar has been raised by the need to achieve more, with less, as a result of fierce competition and a shrinking talent pool.
