The Province of Brescia Creates Flexible, Scalable eGovernment Infrastructure to Improve Service

The largest province in Lombardy, Brescia includes 206 municipalities and contributes 3% of Italy's total gross domestic product. The challenge was to apply the concept of reuse to the province's information systems, replicating systems used by other organizations and create a network of municipalities that organizes demand for information and technological services. The challenge was to support tasks involved in the development of e-government. Brescia implemented Oracle Database to provide a consolidated platform for the Territorial Services Center across 177 institutions and 24 town portals, enabling centralized access to all public sector organizations in the province.
