These failures, including many incidents of outright fraud and abuse, have spawned a plethora of regulations leading to the need for more sophisticated ERP security access control solutions. Companies seeking to better document their business processes, identify risks, and establish controls to mitigate them have responded quickly to these requirements by implementing "Home Grown" or third-party vendor solutions, but these "First Generation" solutions have proven time consuming, costly and only marginally effective.
