With a history dating to 1930, Unilever NV and Unilever PLC are the parent companies of what is today one of the largest consumer goods businesses in the world. Unilever wanted to build a pan-European infrastructure linking over 100.The structure was optimized to minimize financial costs in float, transfer costs and interest margins .Given the vast differences in operating procedures, computer systems and organization that existed between the banks, it was essential to design a system accommodating all these differences. Awanim took a multi-disciplinary approach, including management of the legal issues (Awanim wrote the interchange agreement to support the PKI infrastructure) and the responsibilities surrounding the issuance of certificates.
