United States Department of Defense Suppliers' Passive RFID Information Guide

The goal of the United States Department of Defense (DoD) is to employ mature and emerging supply chain technologies to optimize the supply chain. RFID is a transformational technology that facilitates automated visibility and assessment management. The DoD is utilizing capabilities provided by this technology to fulfill the mission to provide knowledge-enabled logistic support to the Warfighter. Passive RFID, as a part of the AIT technology suite, supports automated data capture and facilitates DoD business process improvement in an integrated end-to-end supply chain enterprise. In order to achieve this goal, the Department requires cooperation and concerted efforts from many entities, primarily the suppliers and the diverse U.S. military community.
