University Hospital Develops HIS to Provide Top-Quality Medical Services
Source: Microsoft
Chung Shan Medical University Hospital is recognized as a superior healthcare provider in the Taichung area for the residents of Taiwan. For the long period of time, the hospital outsourced its core hospital information system to a third-party provider. However, the system was aging and could not keep up with changing business requirements and the partner could not provide the good service continuously. The hospital decided to develop a Hospital Information System (HIS) on its own, but there was no precedent for developing applications in-house. The hospital relied on the Microsoft Technology Center (MTC) to support the architecture design and also validate the feasibility. As a result of the collaborative effort, the hospital successfully developed an HIS to solve its problems and meet its needs.
