Over the last ten years, the Coastal Hydroscience Analysis, Modeling & Predictive Simulations (CHAMPS) Lab at UCF has been working with local, state, and federal agencies and communities to solve water problems in Florida and the entire nation. The challenge was to support the mission of the CHAMPS Lab: to educate and train tomorrow's engineers, scientists and educators, while meeting today's coastal hydroscience challenges. CHAMPS Lab tailored the most cost-efficient, high-performance computing toolset available to the stringent requirements of the hydroscience models. The CHAMPS lab installed a HP XC Cluster based on Cluster Platform 4000 running HP's XC cluster user and management software.
