University of Otago Improves Application Availability and Scalability With Grid Technology
Source: Oracle
Founded in 1869, the University of Otago is New Zealand's oldest university. In 2004, the University decided to replace the long-standing and outdated corporate database and application server platform, which was too costly to maintain. It was extremely time-consuming to build additional application services on that platform - and one couldn't get packaged software to run on it. The University of Otago turned to Oracle's grid technology to solve the problem and make the student administration system faster and easier for students and teachers to use.
