The University of Texas - El Paso (UTEP) is one of nine universities. The systems team in University of Texas doubted that the current IT system would support future growth, and it required software upgrades. In addition, maintenance costs were high, and the president had requested that every department reduce costs and maximize efficiencies. UTEP's Systems team called on Mainline Information Systems they recommended an IBM Power System server coupled with IBM Power VM technology designed to build a dynamic infrastructure, reduce cost, manage risk and improve service levels. The latest IBM advances in virtualization offer broader platform support and scalability than ever before and would address UTEP's needs. The results of deploying Mainline were improved performance and faster data access.
