Usability and Security of DRM Architectures
Source: Helsinki University of Technology
The aim of this paper is to introduce four major DRM architectures, to analyze the vulnerabilities against different attacks and to analyze the impact of these weaknesses along with the actual impact of choosing a particular DRM architecture on a home user. This paper provides an overview of the various ways by which digital content is protected in a DRM system. Several competing DRM architectures are introduced, following by the impact of choosing one of the specified architectures on a home user. Next, the vulnerabilities of introduced architectures are discussed along with the description of various types of attacks against DRM systems.
