User Experience Analysis of Smartphone Web Surfing in UMTS Networks

Many mobile applications being delivered to the market today such as Web surfing and instant messaging applications connect to mobile operator network by using always-on mode. Always-on mode provides the user with a virtual always connected experience. Many open terminal platforms available today allow the user to run many connected applications simultaneously, thus allowing the user to remain connected to many different social networks simultaneously. Even though the application connection is still alive, the radio connection between RNC and UE can be released to save the radio resource.
