The Brocade Access Gateway feature is the most recent evolution in Fibre Channel (FC) Storage Area Network (SAN) connectivity for blade server technology and it has now been extended to the Brocade 00E, an 8-, 1 -, or 16-port standalone switch. Fabric OS (FOS) 5.3.0 and later enables a Brocade 4 Gbit/sec blade switch or Brocade 200E to be configured in Access Gateway mode. A switch in Access Gateway mode provides full SAN switching performance plus additional data center benefits, including reduced cabling, a smaller footprint, and integrated blade chassis management.
