VMware Lab Manager is purpose-designed for virtualizing, deploying and managing these frequently reconfigured systems. Most business sites, for example, have developer teams that write enterprise applications that involve multiple systems (database, application servers and client software). These applications must be developed, tested and run through QA - individually and collectively in-house. They require transiently configured servers with complex configurations that have dedicated storage resources and firewall-protected networking. VMware Lab Manager specializes in configuring, provisioning, managing and tearing down those kinds of systems - providing a key operational tool for the entire project and systems lifecycle, and letting data-center staff optimize hardware usage.
