VMware vSphere 4 Fault Tolerance: Architecture and Performance

VMware Fault Tolerance (FT) provides continuous availability to virtual machines, eliminating downtime and disruption - even in the event of a complete host failure. This paper gives a brief description of the VMware FT architecture and discusses the performance implication of this feature with data from a wide variety of workloads.
