Source: AdvancedVoIP
This paper describes the technology of providing Wireless Local Loops. Local loop is yet another name of providing normal PSTN type phones to end subscribers. This is a replacement technology for laying copper cables. The technology is well suited for providing telephones to geographically dispersed populations where laying copper cable is cost prohibitive. The paper gives a sample network diagram and a list of basic hardware required to launch such a service. The white paper also mentions popular hardware brands and gives budgetary prices for a full service operator. It specially discusses the special needs of WLL operators for the billing solution.
