Today's wireless local area networks (WLANs), wide area networks (WANs) and Wi -Fi hotspots enable anywhere, anytime network access; always available flow of information; and up -to-the-minute CRM applications, even for field workers. However, wireless environments are perceived (whether valid or not) as being more unreliable than their wired counterparts. Wireless access can be sporadic when mobile workers move into areas with low signal -strength - and unpredictable connection interruptions can be devastating to CRM applications. If the connection between the mobile device and the enterprise servers is lost, even for a moment, the application session is broken.
