I don’t know how many of you actually use OneNote, but it’s a handy enough application that first appeared with Office 2003. In a nutshell, it offers an easy way to enter class or meeting notes, a shopping list, keep a to-do list, and so on. If you keep a lot of lists, OneNote might be a more efficient solution than post-it notes.
With all that text, you’d expect the application to have a spell-check feature, and it does. Select Spelling from the Tools menu. Oddly, this feature works only with the current page. There’s no way to spell-check an entire section or the entire notebook. In addition, spell-check won’t check any handwritten text you add via a pen device.
That means, this is just a warning — I can’t offer a word of help for the limitation. Fortunately, OneNote flags words it doesn’t recognize as you type them, the same way Word does. However, it still won’t notice misspellings for handwritten text.
Just be careful when depending on the spell-check feature in OneNote.
Does anyone out there actually use OneNote? I keep trying to incorporate it into my routine, but still haven’t.
