in brief
Adobe today announced the release of version 10 of its ubiquitous Flash Player software, claiming the tool will allow web developers and designers to create more advanced internet applications.

“Flash Player 10 continues to set the pace for internet innovation, and we’re excited to see how the community is already using it to create an entirely new class of experiences not previously achievable on the web,” said David Wadhwani, general manager and vice president of the Platform Business Unit at Adobe.

Some of the new features in Flash Player 10 include custom filters and effects, built-in 3D effects, enhanced sound capabilities and more choices with text layout.

Flash Player 10 also integrates with Creative Suite 4, which Adobe released recently.

Tim Barber, partner and creative director for Odopod, a design studio
and member of the Society of Digital Agencies (SoDA), praised the software, saying his firm’s clients expected innovation in their work.
